What is Lightwork?

Lightwork is a form of spiritual healing that targets personal and planetary evolution. In short, lightwork connects us with angels, ascended masters, planets, and stars. We call in this energy and direct it to healing people, places, or situations. Working with light and calling on higher beings might seem ‘fluffy’ to some, but lightwork is very practical spiritual work.

Characteristics

Lightworkers come from all walks of life, but they all share a love for the Light and a desire to heal the world through spiritual growth. They have an interest in being of service. I love saying, “When love and service come together – Joy is created.” They want to live a life of passion and purpose and have their life mean something at a spiritual level. They care deeply about causes that stir their hearts and believe the world would be more loving and peaceful without fear.

Lightworkers tend to ‘rock the boat’ even though they would rather not make waves (because they love peace). They are meant to be loving agents of change, introducing beliefs based on love instead of fear. Love creates powerful healing change. Those who are in fear-based belief systems (B.S.) have difficulty trusting in the process of change. Sometimes such people can feel confronted by the love that a Lightworker carries. Staying true to your love-based beliefs as a Lightworker is like gently shining love’s light upon the fearful. In time, they may become more willing to trust in love’s healing power, rather than trying to ridicule or destroy that which could ultimately help them find peace.

Being Different

Often fundamentally different from their family of origin, Lightworkers are often the ‘black sheep’ of their family, with a completely different view of the world. They may love their family very much and yet struggle to be themselves within the family. They may feel like they are breaking family traditions and creating a life their family doesn’t fully understand. This requires great courage and self-belief (because being different isn’t always easy).

This sense of being different can also appear at work, among friends, and in how the Lightworker views current events compared to the media or popular opinion. Although this can be challenging at times, it can also be quite freeing – and there’s nothing wrong with them. They are meant to be different. It’s part of their life purpose to not fit into the mainstream all the time.

The Role of a Lightworker in Society

Lightworkers are supposed to be different, to bring in new ideas that help humanity move forward spiritually. Over time, the feeling of being a black sheep can become the freedom to be an independent thinker. The Lightworker can help humanity break out of stagnant and fearful thought patterns. Lightworkers should remember that even when they feel alone, other sensitive and spiritual beings are out there, just like them. They can relax, trust, and attract not only higher spiritual guidance into their lives but also like-minded humans, too.

Could I Be A Lightworker?

Here are some signs that you might be a Lightworker, even if you’re just discovering it:

• Others refer to you as ‘sensitive,’ ‘emotional,’ or a ‘pushover.’
• You feel different and find it hard to belong.
• You think differently from those around you, and you wonder why you ‘can’t just be normal, like everyone else.’
• You get a strong feeling of knowing about people and situations.
• You have a feeling or impression that fills you with emotion. An inner knowing that you find hard to put into words.
• Your moods are affected by natural disasters you see on the news, depressed people, or unwell people.
• Sometimes you don’t speak your truth because it will upset people (but eventually you find you have to speak up anyway).
• You feel emotionally uplifted when you’re in nature, listening to beautiful music, or seeing something remarkable in an art gallery or shop window.

These are just some of the indicators that you could be a Lightworker (an old soul, a healer, or a spiritual leader for our planet). We can all benefit from receiving loving guidance and inspiration as we move to the next step.
